Just trying to help out people that are just starting out on this. I'll try not to make this a wall of text lol.

What is HLA? HLA is High Level ALchemy system recently implemented, allowing players to make high level weapons, armor, and support items. You have to be level 60 and have alchemy at level 30. There are 3 types of HLA: weapon, armor, and item. You can only specialize in ONE.

The qualification test for it is in BigBeam city, Taoist Master Cinglu (163, 245). There are four quests in total you have to do:

Weapon: Quest 1: 10 Bronze Ore Quest 2: 10 Abrasive Fluid, 10 Soft Clay Quest 3: 3 Gemstone, 3 Cedar Wood Quest 4: 10 Demonic Fang Rewards: Abrasive Agent Recipe, Steel Blade Recipe, Arms Alchemist Title
Armor: Quest 1: 10 Bronze Ore 10 Quest 2: Solvent Fluid, 10 Soft Clay Quest 3: 3 Gemstone, 3 Ox Hide Quest 4: 10 Demonic Skin Rewards: Dissolving Agent Recipe, Steel Plate Recipe, Armor Alchemist Title
Items:Quest 1: 10 Bronze Ore 10 Quest 2: Adhesive Fluid, 10 Soft Clay Quest 3: 3 Dried Rice, 3 Crab Meat Quest 4: 10 Demonic Breath Rewards: Adhesive Agent Recipe, Metallic Element Recipe, Elixir Alchemist title

You can get ore by refining gear at Refining Master Liang Bailian (120,208):

Weapon/Armor lvl 30-50: Bronze ore, Iron ore (3-5k to refine)
Weapon/Armor lvl 50+: Steel ore, Alloy ore, Silver ore (you can get either one, just depends on your luck) (10k to refine)
Weapon/Armor lvl 60+: Diamond ore (3-10k to refine)

The Adhesive fluid, Soft clay, Abrasive fuild, etc can be bought from an NPC Mai Liangcai (106 197) for 1k.

The gemstones, tanned hide, crabmeat, etc are lvl 6 mats and the easiest way to obtain those is just to buy a fairy.

Demonic fang, demonic breath, and demonic skin are demonic mats that you can get from the Bigbeam instances. Refer to Chirus guide for those:

The HLA qualification will give you the basic recipes for each type of alchemy, but it won't give you all of them. A lot of the Ultimate weapons recipes, Armor recipes, and certain Item recipes can only be bought using Spirit Pearls. The EASIEST way to get spirit pearls are by doing those instances, but if you can't, you can do it one by one (getting a spirit catcher orb and killing lvl 60+ monsters in bigbeam).

Well it also has double the magic accuracy, which counts a lot towards rolling thunder, more MP, and higher ATK by 40 points, which also counts towards your skill output. If that makes you feel better >.>

eh, I'm not lookin at aoe stuff, was looking at point attack, and I just never got used to beating something with a stick!!! Think i'll just stuff the mattack +28 onyx in it and an onyx that goes in slot three (earth attack 60 or some junk like that) and be done with it! I don't have the patience for it lol
